Like most women in today’s youth-obsessed culture, once I hit 30 the irrational fear of “looking old” started to invade my thoughts. By the time I was 35, those invasive thoughts caused me to look into cosmetic procedures: Botox, fillers, threads. Now at 40, I am both confident and comfortable in my aging skin.
But before the comfort settled in…. I began following doctors on Instagram and asking my friends who had work done about their procedures.
Ultimately, my conscience got the best of me. How could I talk about self-acceptance and the wonderment of natural beauty if I was so quick to jump ship the moment aging appeared?
My research shifted from new-age injections to timeless, ancient practices that have helped women age gracefully for centuries.
